I have a bowl signed CP Kimberley, with a Webb etched mark.  The Webb sig. is pretty blurry, which sometimes means a fake, but I haven't seen anywhere near enough of their marks to judge.

I know Kimberley worked at Webb 1930-1978 (thanks to Ivo's book!), but wondered if his is a well-known name.

...Huh!  I just looked up the name in Hajdamach, not expecting to find anything, and the chapter on copper wheel engraving starts with a photo of him engraving a rock crystal goblet with bosses!  I guess he is fairly well known.  So maybe my question should be, is my bowl a real Kimberley, and is it valuable (i.e., more valuable than a Webb piece not signed by anyone)?  I don't normally ask questions about value, but with this I'm pretty curious and clueless.

Thanks very much for the reply!  I'm pleasantly surprised after all this time to see one.  And welcome to the forum!

I've seen a few examples now of Cyril Kimberley's work.  Very nice engraving, well executed.  It's different in style from any of my other engraved pieces.  He must have been pretty highly esteemed; one of the goblets I saw had a Certificate of Authenticity with it that proclaimed it was by Kimberley/Webb (a dragon design which incidentally is shown in a Webb catalogue on Frank's Glass Catalogue site).
