Most of mine is either kept in a display cabinet and on the top of it, while all my large opalescent bowls have to be kept in the loft due to the space they take up

Would like to say I do like the Mdina display as well as all the vaseline thorn vases

It's because you're in the Cafe Nige. Cafe doesn't have image upload enabled (otherwise we end up with the image folder full of holiday snaps and cats and dogs!  >:D) - to get around that we set up a special album for the Cafe in GlassGallery here: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/thumbnails.php?album=125 - but as this topic is getting such a lot of interest I think we should move it to Glass for now so that images can be added directly.  8)

Hi,
What wonderful pictures of your wonder glass!!  :hiclp:  I have pictures of our cabinets here
http://usera.imagecave.com/janice/MyPhotos/nbbbm/ , we had cabinets to the ceiling in our kitchen and when we remodeled we put in lighted cabinets.  There is a "square" that used to be a window behind some paneling and Joe made it into a display area in the dining room.  There are 3 cabinets in our living room and 3 in the family room.  Let's just say there's glass sitting around everywhere here!

This album also has pictures of my WWII collection, I like the Victory Eagle items and you know how things grow!  ;D

Love your blue Schmetterling, Nige!  she looks a deeper blue than mine   Or is it just that mine's high up against the light?  Does anyone know if there was a variation in the shades of blue Schmetterlings?  I'm sure I've seen lighter and darker Greta's!

Anyway, here's a couple more pics of my swans and Schmetterlings  ;)

Hi Leni, love your Scmetterlings they are one of Walthers finest! Im looking for the amber one myself. You are correct about the blue I think they did deeper blue later on in the 50s or 60s,I have noticed the same blue in the Greta vases, pelikan frog and Irene vases.I also think that the part frosted Schmetterlings again were made later, like the pink and the deeper blue.I have seen once a part frosted green version! Would love that! You have made a marvellous display of your Schmetterlings I like it! Nige
