bottle green flared C19 vase.

this, I really like.    simple, without ornamentation and with a subtle feeling of being old (bit like me).   The glass is of poor quality - no inclusions or stones, but air bubbles and moulding defect around the neck.    15.8 cms. tall and about 7.5 cms at the widest at the base.    Good old fashioned bottle green - flared top (fire polished rim) with 8 way crimp and 12 optical ribs, and a mould blown base without markings except possibly an indented 'O', which is about one cm. diameter a little off-centre on the base  -which has 'shed' loads of wear.    Why the slight thickening at the neck I'm not sure.    No sign of iridescence.            I don't see it in the books, mainly I wud imagine  because it is too much of a utility looking piece, and when struck with a finger nail, the ring dies almost instantly.    Not really looking for a maker  -  probably imposible to tell  -  but wud appreciate peoples thoughts on age please.     cheers and thanks for looking.          Paul S.

thanks Ivo  -  must admit I did wonder if that was a possibility.     Wud you care to commit yourself to a date (Victorian - Edwardian)  -  personally I think it might be mid C19.      I don't sell anything - just give pieces to a charity shop if I no longer require something, which in this case was one pound at Sunday's boot sale (err....how much wud she actually give!!!  -  only joking).   Unfortunately, the house is groaning under the weight of glass, so occasionally thing do have to be parted with.    thanks your help.     As I mentioned, I really do like old glass, so this I will keep.     cheers             Paul S.
