Topic: Uranium tumbler vase with bubbles - probably Walsh Walsh Pompeian

8" / 20cm tall.  A definite uranium glow.  Random bubbles of irregular sizes.

First thoughts say Webb (Eau de Nil?), but it "feels" to be of lesser quality and older than the 1920s/30s.  No maker's mark.  

Lots of wear and a thin ground strip on the very outer edge of the base.  Irregular ground-out punty mark.  

Any suggestions?

I would say perhaps Walsh Walsh Pompeian, particularly with that oversize slightly irregular but polished pontil mark. Date 1929-1930s

I was also just about to suggest the Walsh  -  looking at the pictures of examples, there does seem to be quite a range of density of bubles, some pieces not too disimilar from yours.   I was looking in both of the Barrie Skelcher's books.    Paul S.

The Pompeian range had completely slipped off my radar.  Thanks.

Even so, it's a bit shoddy.  Lots of striations and an uneven rim.  I guess even Walsh could have had the odd quality control problem, eh?  I still like it, though, despite it being chipped.

I have one almost the same, except it's not uranium and it's quite nicely made. Pompeian was designed to be a cheap and cheerful range because it was quick and easy to produce, so perhaps the quality control was less rigorous or perhaps your vase was never sold through a retailer. It may be that chemically bubbled glass was not suitable for reuse as cullet so they sold the seconds...
