No one can help?? Please look
« on: May 19, 2009, 03:29:28 AM »
Hoping someone can help me identify a pair of mantle lusters.  These came from an 89 yr old woman and belonged to her mother in Italy.  They measure approx 14.5" tall and 7" in circumference.  Glass seems to be all one piece.  Gold gilding in VG condition from mid to top of lamps with some wear on the bottoms.  The base appears to be brass with a small flower inside each open square.  There are 8  5" cut spear prisms on each.  Very heavy ~ approx 10.5 lbs each.  Trying to figure out if they're 19th or 20th century ~ victorian? Bohemian? Italian?  Moser?  Any help is appreciated

Bohemian but not quite certain about the date. I'd guess 1880s but I could be off by 30 years...

Thank you for your reply, I was beginning to think that no one was going to help at all.    :)

Thank you for your reply, I was beginning to think that no one was going to help at all.    :)

To be fair, you only gave us 3 days before reposting your items in this new thread!  I've removed your other posting now. :)

It can take hours/days/weeks/months to find the right person to ID your item.  Not everyone pops in every day.   :)

I will support Ivo, this piece was born in Bohemia, probably in Nový Bor (Haida) region. The age I would not guess, I know that simmilar pieces had been in produced Borské sklo also in fifties and sixties.
