Topic: golden fugly vase

This one was so horrid it just had to follow me home.
Clear glass of uneven quality: seeds, grit, a broken and unfinished pontil; the neck is definitely un-round. The bottom has remained transparent but the body was satinated and decorated with enamel, then gilded over. I do not believe it has ever had a stopper.
So what is the answer - Quickly made at the end of the 19th century in Bohemia or Italy or Belgium? Of more recently in India?

I am afraid that this vase comes from Crystalex - Nový Bor, 60ties-70ties.  :cry:
I have documented many very simmilar items, unfortunately.

I feel your pain Jindrich, It must hurt to admit it is Navy Bor after reading the description of the vase.... 

The true sign of a professional though... You can admit where it came from!!

Well it is in keeping with the fashion of the day, of course: shoulder bags made from tatty carpets, long flowing dresses made from discarded curtains, Afghan coats made from inside out sheep, bell bottom jeans, peacock feathers - you could say it is fashionably shabby and shows a sharp eye for what the decadent western market demanded. There - does that make you feel better?  I am very pleased that I can now place it!
