is this a Libochovice bowl??
« on: August 29, 2009, 02:46:26 PM »
Hi all,

This arrived today, having won it on Ebay. Described as Whitefriarish??? blue bowl

I was checking out another whitefriars bowl when I came across it.  It reminded me of something I'd seen in one our books- after searching  through Marcus's Sklo Union, we found it, or something similar on page 95.

"Bowl with abstract radial decoration. Made at Libochivice. Pattern number unknown. Diamater 245mm"
Our bowl looks like the same one, BUT measures 200mm at the widest point. Can anyone please confirm if what we have is the real deal.

Ebay link as follows:-

Thanks in advance.....Sharron

Take a look at this thread http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,26891.0.html
I think your bowl may be Spanish, if the glass sounds like glass when you flick it it probably is Spanish, if the glass is very thin and has a 'dull' (non resonating) sound it may well be Czech.
