I'm not sure if the condiments are hand blown or pressed. There are ripples on the base of the condiment so I presume they are hand blown. The metal seems to be Silver plate but I'm not very sure of that and strangely, it is crased in places.
There is a Caduceus mark to the base (A symbolic staff surmounted by two wings and entwined with two snakes).
A monogram is present above this which may read: "HK" or "HC".
Below the shield there is what looks like a mark that has been scratched out.
I can think of only two reasons for this.1) It is German and was rubbed out during the war.
2) A dealer scratched it out to fool a buyer into thinking it's something better.
As you can see it looks like a hat with wingsAny clue on maker, age or anything else very much welcome.
BTW, people do the strangest things. I've seen people covering up Poole marks with Marks and Spencers labels. :shock:
I thought to myself, this M&S dolphin looks very well made. It took me another day to figure it out. :roll:
