Maybe Baccarat has started to making their vases in China to save money???   ;D

Bet yours doesn't have the acid stamp!

Which pretty much 100% certifies it's the real thing!  >:D

Saw two of the fishy ones for sale at a flea market, different sellers, both claiming Orrefors Graal. :24:

I quietly and politely pointed out they were full of s**t (the sellers not the vases ;D) but they didn't care and I am sure they knew anyway. >:(

The vases usually have ground and unpolished bases.

Thet seem to be everywhere at the moment, ive seen one in a charity shop recently with a price ticket of £85, although it was quite a pretty one and reasonably well done compared to some.

Isn't it, in a way, a relief giving out false origins seems not to be very rare ? If it was they would get away with it more often... :ac1: What a dilemma.

It's useful to know there is a fake Baccarat mark around. I don't know how good it (the mark) is, or if I'd recognise Baccarat anyway, but I certainly know what these bits of (yellowy) glass are!
I had a large plate with the purple flowers in it - it had quite a nice blue rim applied. I got £15 in Oxfam for it whan I was working there, I thought we were doing well!
Pretty enough sort of thing for use if you like it - and doesn't matter if it comes to grief!
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)
