Help to ID Black Stem Glass and Marking

I would appreciate some help to identify this black glass. It is 5.5" high and 4" across the top with a 3" base. The bottom of the base has a letter "N" or possibly a "Z" marking.

Hi there --

might the black glass be called ?? Obsidian ?? as I am not sure.   

As a guess being the N looks like a Z --- or the Z looks like a N ----- (might it be Nazeing) ---- but that is all just a ????????????????????????????????????

Others here know more than me -- I just try -- as someday when I grow-up ( :24:) I would like to know my glass ...lol   :spls:
