Help please identifying this vase
« on: April 12, 2011, 11:02:20 PM »
Hi All, bought this thinking it was Whitefriars, having trawled the later catalogues I can't see it but I know I have seen it or something very similar somewhere. Height 9 & 1/2 inches, weight 1035 grams. Thanks, Sue

Hi, Sue:

I'm getting a little old so it's hard to see much in the small photos. Can you make them a bit bigger, please?

You need to resize a high res photo so that the longest dimension is about 700 pixels; the board then creates the thumbnail and we get a big enough picture.

Definitely not Whitefriars though

Thanks for the replies I had a job posting as it said my pics were too large. Will try again though. Sue

Not all vases by Verboeket were signed (I have an unsigned one myself), but for his Kristalunieken series I think he always used more than one colour thread, and I can't remember having seen lobed vases. Somehow lobes don't look very Dutch to me (but I may be wrong here, my knowledge of Dutch glass isn't as extensive as, say, Ivo's).
