I walk into a Charity shop or a bootsale and get a buzz like radar saying there is something good here  ;D I love the hunt. I like my Crystal and Glass. All at bargain prices but originally the path to glass obsessed was a 10p piece of Pottery I thought had a mark saying Poole, I didnt have my glasses at the time, and it turned out to be a potter called Rooke. It sold for £32.00. I have not stopped buying bits but that is still my biggest mark up. Would love to get that kind of return on a lot more pieces.
Pete. :-)

I liked that show  ;D They are showing the series again but not been tempted to watch it  ;D ;D  Cant be a divvie, it means idiot up here in the NE  ;D  although with some of my buys ::)  I have also given a lot to charity over the last few years and had some bargains. They are fewer now with all the 'advisors' they have but there's still the odd piece as nobody can know it all. I dont get bargains off ebay, the crystal is so badly photographed I can never ID the pieces apart from the few patterns I know.

Love these stories about car boot and charity shop finds.
"serendipity favours the inquisitive"
Two whitefriars sunspots, small tapio wirkkala onion vase.alvar aalto savoy vase with engraved signature. They are out there.
I do recognize that charity shops are there for a very good reason.
As the other members have posted i have also spent a few pounds over the years.
happy hunting.
