Ribbed Green Goblet Vase with Controlled bubble clear base.
« on: February 06, 2015, 02:51:28 PM »
Hi , I hope someone can help me with this vase please

Stands a fraction over 8" tall
Green bowl is ribbed
Applied clear base has spiral controlled bubble effect
Some wear to base
Quite heavy glass.

I've searched a lot now , Erickson was the closest I could get .

Many thanks for any help , Dave in Ireland.

I have one of these in turquoise and I'm pretty sure I came across a labelled version for a Portuguese maker.  Is the clear glass on the foot very slightly citrine or yellowy tinted btw?
I'll try and find my link.

Dave sorry, the only reference I can find on the board is me saying I'd seen this identified as Portuguese but that I couldn't remember if the id piece had a label.
I still can't remember but I am 100% sure I id'd my own based on the piece seen and I wouldn't have done if it had not had a Portugal label of some sort.
So I'm sure that's where they both come from - and yes mine has a slightly yellow or pale citrine coloured bubble stem as well.

Information on Portuguese glass is scarce but there is some here on this link - and key words to search might be IVIMA and Atlantis as well as Crisal Portugal if I recall from my searches on something else.

70's would be my guess for age.  Dave.

this is a bubble stem vase being sold in USA.  It has a Napcoware label (US company) but it  also says Made in Portugal.
Not the same shape as ours but at least proof that bubble stem vases were made in POrtugal  :)  and the bubbles are random.
