It looks like a '50s birthday cake, upside down, not any old upside-down cake, Keith.
It's wonderful that you did know what it was and were able to get hold of it.
My eyes are peeled for fairy light bits, but have only ever encountered a couple of pressed tall stick bases.
(Yes, I knew what they are and yes, I grabbed them.)
You're a lucky lad.

Thanks Sue, the dealer also had a pair of blue 'opalescent' bases, unmarked, around 6 inches across, never seen any that size before !

very nice Keith  -  so do you think this might be  'Burmese'?                  In Wilson's Vol. 1 of Mt. Washington & Pairpoint Glass' there is an ad. from S. Clarke, and some details, showing that they did offer night lights in Burmese - although regret the add unclear as to details of pieces.
Am sure Jim will be able to throw some light on your find (forgive the pun)
