Help with Geometric Glass
« on: December 16, 2015, 07:42:03 PM »
Thanks in advance.  I have the following 2 items.  I have no idea if they are paperweights or ashtrays or desktop accessories or what.  Murano or generic cheap stuff.  Any help would be appreciated.  Guessing my mom picked these up at yard sales years ago.  I do not see any marks.  They are about 5" across at the widest and 2.5" high.  I can add more photos but they don't show much.

They are definitely Murano ashtrays, 1950s/60s/70s perhaps. However, you may not find a maker. The yellowish green layer in the green one is uranium glass.

I am seeing some Carole Stupell items like this.  I don't think I can narrow it down to this designer though.

Also would sommerso be appropriate?

Sorry.  I know lots about handbags and taught myself Lionel trains but glass and jewelry are out of my realm.

Yes they are sommerso but that is only a term describing their construction. Carole Stupell is just a US marketing brand or an import label, so I would ignore that
