It could be Japanese.  I don't have time to look through threads at the moment, but if you search bobble vase some info may come up.
Please could you size your photos to 600 x 400 pixels as that will allow them to enlarge enough to see the object.  Many thanks.
Is it purple exterior btw?  it's difficult to tell.
