Hello, I am new to the glass board. I have general knowledge of glass with some experience/knowledge of EAPG and Marbles.(not an expert though) My husband and I will be downsizing soon and I am offering most of the paperweights to my kids, whether they will take them or not, who knows. Most young adults tend to think about new and shiny rather then history and beauty. I do not have anything of significant value but I do have a few questions about a couple of the paperweights.
My first 2 paperweights are similar in size and were bought together.
One paperweight has a white frit motto "In God We Trust"
It has a rough pontil mark.
3.5" diameter
2.75" height
It also has annealing fractures
The Main colors are Pink, White and Yellow with Blue metallic Flakes
The second paperweight has Icepick? Flowers and a rough pontil mark
3.5" diameter
2.75" height
1 large annealing fracture
Main colors are Pink, White, Green and Yellow with Blue metallic Flakes
I seem to remember reading, about 10 years ago, something about Chinese? reproductions of the Motto paperweights.
Thank You in advance
Beth
Thanks to this message board, I have identified about 60% of my collection as Chinese.
