Topic: Wine Carafe with what looks to be Diamond Point? Engraving. Signed and dated?

This wine carafe has Hatfield House engraved onto the sides of it in what appears to be a sort of diamond point or stipple engraving i am using these terms loosely as i have never handled any glass with this technique before, The base has a polished pontil scar with the name of the house on the edge and in the centre of the pontil scar is a monogram which looks like TU then an X and then 79 sorry the last picture of the monogram is not very clear i  will try and get a clearer one asap.
Would anybody be able to confirm the technique used or any information as to the monogram? Thank you for looking.

I have been doing some more looking and have come across a good contender for this carafe the whitefriars 9723 carafe is spot on for size anybody agree? Would whitefriars maybe have sold these to the national trust i am thinking who then had them engraved or maybe an engraver at whitefriars glass did it in the late 70s?
