Firstly, Julian Cole is female. A brief bio is here: https://www.juliancoleengraving.com/about.html

There is a similar bowl to mine but in blue with different lettering here: https://www.gge.org.uk/memberdirectory/view/42

In another bio, Julian Cole says she attended glass blowing courses at the High Wycombe College of Glass and Ceramics: https://www.ocg.co.uk/member/julian-cole/

Yes I did mention that in a previous post chilternhills.

But hopefully now you can contact the engraver and ask who made the actual glass as well.

You did indeed previously mention those things. Thank you. My thought was to add the web links to make it clear where they came from.

I have just been informed that the bowl was made by Bob Crooks, while the engraving was done by Julian Cole.

As for lettering on glass, I personally quite like it. The museum has a couple of bowls by Karlin Rushbrooke with quotes from poetry on them, sandblasted rather than engraved. He created quite interesting effects by overlapping the text round the bowl and using a fluid font.

I have looked at the signature again and it says First Glass. I would have struggled to decipher it without that pointer.

I managed to speak with Julian Cole on the phone and she confirmed the bowl was made by Bob Crooks. She has been retired for quite a while. The last update on her web site is dated 2012.
