For confirmation:

Marcus's link to the eBay item jogged my memory. My friend's Lion was also marked in the same way: "Sulfoidol ROBIN" to one side and "Iodone ROBIN" to the other. I am fairly sure that the eBay listing should say "iodone" instead of "nodone".

When I searched for information way back whenever, I found references to the Robin company which is where I got my 1950s date from. But current searches have not found the info this time.

I had also consulted another friend whose son works in the pharmaceutical imdustry and was for several years based in France. Unfortunately, no extra information was found.

Almost a crossed thread with the D'Avesn thread

Not in Sabino book nor Hunebelle book nor Jobling - don't think its Ferjac or Cersari they are usually signed

but with an obscure signature like that

Most likely made by Choisy Le Roi if its pre War

or post war  -same factory-  but now owned by Sevres.

They made such pieces for anyone who commisioned them.

What a wonderful piece never seen an opalescent one before

I think there is a crossed wire here, if we go back to Roy's first post he said his wasn't marked.

Not being marked does not matter as the mould probably included replaceable panels for adding customised lettering if required, as with bottles. It certainly looks to be the same mould as Pamela's.

Thanks for all the help on this Lion, its been very interesting, so it was made in France which was my best guess, but still some doubt as to the exact maker
