Marigold Early American Hobnail Cuspidor

What is a Cuspidor for ? Is this really Carnival ? It doesn't have much of a pattern. I'm not even sure you can call it hobnail. I like it tho. Ed.

A cuspidor is a polite word for a spittoon....i.e. something you spit into! Considered to be used by those who chewed tobacco, I have a theory that they were also much used during the times that TB was commonplace.

That's an Imperial item (USA) and it's usually referred to as Hobnail Soda Gold spittoon (it is similar to the Soda Gold version, but the raised bumps earn it the extra bit in the title  :)). It's easily found in the USA, though not so common in the UK, of course.
