LC Tiffany help please
« on: September 09, 2007, 07:18:24 PM »
I have this little vase, I am not even sure if it is genuine as I have never handled such glass, but I found a signature on the underside, which I rubbed pencil over. It says L C Tiffany, then some numbers, and then Favrile (I think). Can anybody tell me anything about this little (6 1/2" - 16.5cm) vase and is it even genuine?

TIA
Della

If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Hi Deltab,
Pretty sure its a fake as its looks pretty crude and also Tiffany almost always signed counterclockwise. As you view the signature, it will appear in the bottom half of the vase. If it appears at the top in clockwise fashion, it is usually a fake. There are some very rare exceptions, but i dont think this is one of them.
