Lamp - Not sure of it
« on: January 17, 2008, 12:18:43 AM »
Hi, My grandmother just gave me this lamp.  I do not know a thing about it except that she said that she has had it quite a while....I think I recall seeing it in her home late 60's or 70's.  Anyone have a idea.  Are these glass, or what?

Thanks

Well, I'll remind people here (at the risk of being teased again  ::) ) of my - totally unprofessional - method of testing if something is glass or plastic!  :D  Tap it (gently) against your teeth!  ;D  I can always 'feel' the difference immediately between glass and anything else.

OK, now let's have all the jokes about 'biting' glass again!  ::)  ;)

What is the green between top and middle pieces? Need an under base and light fittiing views to give an idea of date, type of lamp was made for a long time. Also check for markings on base and on bulbholder.
