I've been having absolutely no luck researching this pressed glass plaque like paperweight and was wondering if anyone here could shed some light.

It reminds me a lot of Scandinavian glass but it's pressed and has bubbles in it so more likely something like Nybro than the quality companies.

I can't even think of what to call the designs on it for research purposes, I've tried tribal and such but I can't even figure out what country these designs might originate from, they could be a candinavian style but equally could be native American or Mayan (ok I don't think Mayan)

It measures 5 1/8" diameter and just under an inch tall, solid glass with the backside smooth and the front with the pressed patterns.

I have never before added this sort of reply. But for this one ...

Sorry, no idea. But I actually like it for some reason. I see a definte, but abstract, face in there.

yay I'm glad you see it too  I was wondering if I was imagining it lol.

Maybe I should list it on Ebay and proclaim it to have the face of the madonna or jesus in it.

Interesting piece and while I can't offer any suggestions (although Scandinavian seems possible) it might be worth shifting to the general Glass section to promote more discussion?

That'd be fine, I was unsure in the beginning if I should post in Scandi or Paperweights so wherever you feel best please feel free to move it :)

Hi Cat, not a mod anymore, but will 'report' it to highlight this.
