« on: September 25, 2008, 02:56:37 PM »
Hi All
I purchased this Whitefriars Weight and very lovely it is too, 6 Facets all slightly convex Millefiori 6 rows and the center one cane is square with the date 1973 and a white friar in it, the base is ground out and polished, the side are cut but do not know the name of this ? sorry.

What i am trying to find out is whom designed this weight was it Geoffrey Baxter ? all opinions welcome. hope you enjoy the look of this fantastic weight.
         Steve

Can't help you with the designer but I'll just sit here and drool a bit. Lovely weight!

Hi All
Have found out it was Geoffrey Baxter whom designed this weight, thanks to the good people of www.whitefriars.com. maker may have been Ray Annenberg.

Thanks!

This board is like a book when there's always the next page with something fun to look at. You've contributed some really neat pages.

Hope your holidays are happy. :)

The two main designers of those weights were (Big Ronnie) Wilkinson affectionately called Fattie , or Geoff Baxter ,Ray made most of the canes including some nice silhouettes but only designed a few millifiori weights and the swirlys ,Big Ronnie was the bees knees i am told.
