Large Blue Satin Ewer, Decorated
« on: September 17, 2009, 10:18:15 PM »
I've ignored these for years, however this one got my attention because of its size (13" height & 5" diameter) & decoration. Since I've not paid any attention to them I'm not certain their origin although I'm guessing Bohemian. Decoration appears to be enamel not a decal, rough pontil. Appreciate any info. Ken

Cf my ruby ewer, see here.   Note similar spout, rim, and handle shape.   Attribute one and you're a long way to attributing the other.

After looking at your posts,re- handles and spouts, then I think these are all related, the one on the left is uv reactive, the one on the right a bit different but I'd say also related, what do you think?Keith.

I was informed today that a couple of examples of these satin ewer vases are in one of Robt. Truitt's Bohemian references, but no detail other than Bohemian. I remember yours Bernard as the conversation got sidetracked to the Peachblow. Ken
