hi all picked this little chap up at a car boot for £1.50, thought he may be Uranium but he glows orange under UV not green can anybody tell me what process this is?? also any ideas on where he could have come from and age, he doesnt look very old.
he is 11cms in length
i think the body is white and yellow then thinly cased in the green colour which then forms the "legs" the green is giving of the reaction.
(sorry the UV picture is a bit wobbly but holding the uv, trying to block out the light and take the photo is quite hard ;D)
many thanks
michelle

Cadmium, which gives the yellow colour, causes the orange glow. Often used for that very citric yellow you see
