HELP if you can...
« on: August 06, 2019, 01:14:45 AM »
I saw this lamp and had to buy it as it was just so unique. Problem I have now is I thought I was buying a Plume & Atwood lamp as that is the burner that was placed on this but... Alas no one has been able to identify who actually made this piece. It is from what all I've shown this to most likely of European origins but no one truly has been able to figure this out. There are no markings as you can see in the pictures and it appears to be a single blown glass piece ie made all at one time which makes the manufacturing even harder to distinguish. So I joined this site hoping to get some help. Good luck and feel free to email me directly. arthurscarr AT gmail DOT com

Hi and welcome. :)
Lamps are notoriously difficult to id as they tend to be specialist items and not marked in any normal manner - the normal surfaces for adding the mark are often not there. They often have to be finished off differently to other pieces because of accommodating fittings and cables.
That said, we can often recognise certain makers' work.
We'll do what we can for you!

There is plenty of techie help and info about using the board here;
https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,22.0.html

There are two topics there on posting images, you'll just need to find the right bits for the sort of computery things you use.

Hi arthurscarr, welcome to the Board.

1. I have modified your email address to keep spam harvesters at bay.

2. As Sue said, there is technical help on the Board for reducing image file size. The place to look is: TECHIE TIPS: Resizing images to fit the board Within that help thread I have recommeded http://www.picresize.com/ However, the site now has ads but it is still ok and simple for use with a little patience.
