Yellow bark type vase etched JG 3082 - ID = Ingrid Glass
« on: July 14, 2011, 03:57:36 PM »
Hello all from sunny France.

I purchased this vase a while ago and was told it is possibly German and maybe around 1960 in date.  It is a fairly chunky sort of solifleur vase with bark type effect in yellow cased? in clear.  The base is flat and highly polished as is the rim.  The base is etched with JG (initials) and number 3082.  Could someone kindly help me id please?
Many thanks
Margi

Hi Margi...  I believe it's IG not JG for Ingridglas.  Perhaps someone will be able to provide you with more information as that's where my knowledge ends.  :usd:

Anik could well be right.  :) I was going to say JG for Johanfors, as that's what we all thought for a long time, but I do vaguely remember finding out that was wrong.  Can't find the thread on the GMB though.   ::)

Yes, they're Ingrid Glass. Like the other thread says, it's quite a wellknown range, existing in many colour-clear combinations and different shapes. They are widely described as designed by Kurt Wokan in the 60s-70s.
