Ruby cage blown lamp base Whitefriars/Nazeing?
« on: July 30, 2011, 02:41:20 PM »
Picked this up today I know Whitefriars did these for outside porch lights never seen a lamp one though.
The seller said they'd had it since the 60s/70s and insist it's made by Nazeing I know nothing about Nazeing so presume they do, any help appreciated it's 13" high excluding the lamp fitting also has a bulb in the base so it should  look good lit up let you know later it does work.

Nazeing certainly did make lamp shades blown into cages, but that's as far as I know...

All I can say is that it is not illustrated in Timberlake's book on Nazeing. Even if you take into account that it is a lamp base as opposed to a lattern, the frame form is not there.

There were a number of other companies that made these, which have been discussed on these boards over the years.

Nigel
