Art deco blue marbled lamp
« on: August 20, 2011, 08:01:27 PM »
This is a beautiful blue/white marbled effect glass lamp with a three footed bakelite base and fittings beneath. The glass shade meaures 24.5 cm approx in height and 16cm approx at the widest base point and has no apparent markings. The feet and fittings are all bakelite with made in England by Coldtone on them. Any info appreciated as always.

I can't help but wonder if it might be related to the dreaded and unmentionable 25th of december.

(it's far to early in the year to be mentioning it. And if anybody tries to, I'm off in a huff!)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Hi Sue, you mean CHRISTMAS, only 4 pay days left until  :grrr:

I never looked at the lamp in that way but now that you mention it, there is an uncanny resemblance to a tree.

I think finding a maker might be difficult - it certainly is for lampshades of this opaque, mottled glass design, but you've got bits attached to it, and it might be a popular seasonal decorative item, this makes it altogether quite an interesting and desirable thing, I'd say.
Some folk are in to that.......  :-X seasonal stuff.

 :P :wsh:

The shade is quality, extremely well made and the glass is quite thick too. Whoever made it knew their stuff.
