The technique is amber stain cut-to-clear which is an Egermann technique from the 1820s still produced today. The pagoda could be the Chinesischer Turm (built 1790) in the Englischer Garten in Munich - or it could be just fantasy. In any case it seems early 20th (19th ct. shakers I don't think so) possibly from the 1920s. Any metal stamps in the lid?
