He's really friendly and helpful, I look forward to his response. ;D
Glad to have reminded you of Uriah Heep.  :smg:
My favourite "heavy metal" band. I don't understand why they haven't come to the fore nowadays in the same way as Deep Purple and Black Sabbath have.

I don't get to play my albums though. "pop" music of any sort scares the cats silly. They're quite blase about Rachmaninov and Shostakovitch turned up to full volume, however.  :spls:

Heard from Ed Iglehart, said he's 99.99% certain it's one of his, rolled in copper oxide before blowing,so £2.50 well spent then! :o

Aaaargh from me too - I don't do facebook, but the notion of Ed being there doing his thing is almost enough to tempt me.
Michael and I went to meet him once, on our way home from Eire. Sadly he wasn't doing anthing glassy, but Michael was delighted to be relieved of that topic. We discussed politics and conservation and Ed showed us alll around his home - which is quite fascinating. Michael had a wonderful time, as did I, (although I would have liked just a little glassmaking........ ;) )

:-[ Apologies for the address, Anne. I did have a single thought about "should I put this here?", but then thought "it's a publicly available address on his site" and went ahead. I didn't have the second thought which I should have had, about bots.

I think sometimes Mr E may use other oxides apart from copper too, I did have a vase that had silvery metalic blobs. Here is a close up photo of the coppery bits on this 'vase': https://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/MiscellaneousGlass#5713139103049299138

I believe he gets his copper from old wiring. He's very ecologically minded.

Sue it would be great to see you on there. Ed is on facebook alot, Ive had the pleasure of chatting to him on numerous occasions now, with the odd prod for how much I want one of his mushrooms. There was one on ebay and it sold for about £10 (really badly listed). I only found it after it had sold, and was distraught.
He is very funny and puts some beautiful pictures from his home on often, so I spend a lot of time reading his posts and so on
If/when you do come on dont forget to join my glassy group (search J.C.C_Glass) http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/220575688006436/
