Take a look at this ebay-us listing.

121522521117

Opening bid for a "19th century Baccarat" millefiori paperweight.  - $15,000.00.

Shipping cost - $15,121.00.

I thought I've seen overpriced items on ebay, but this takes the cake.

Curiously, what would the experts value this $15,000.00 paperweight at?

Probably a $5-10K weight in pristine condition, one sold for 6500 in summer auction at LH Selman.  They do not state size and hard to tell how extensive the damage is on this one.

okay, so I guess the $15K is high but not as ludicrous as I thought. Maybe double or triple, but not a factor of ten. On the other hand 15K for shipping is a bit out of line lol

Hi,
it looks like one that fetched circa £3000 in a UK auction about 4 months ago.

      regards,

Hi. I would want to see additional images, and proof that the seller (feedback 4) actually owns the piece; also evidence that the 'seller' is genuine, and has not had his or her account hacked by someone aiming to defraud people.

The paperweight is in poor condition, and the design is not well centred.   We have a better example in our collection that cost £3,000 on eBay a few years ago.  That said, I would imagine this one might sell for US $5,0000.
