Strathearn? ID = Perthshire Paperweights PP7
« on: October 04, 2017, 06:37:38 AM »
Hi,

Can anyone help me id this paperweight? It looks like Strathearn to me (the base looks similar to other Strathearn weights I have) but I can't see anything in this colour online. It measures 7 cm diameter

Thanks in advance!

Adam

After reading old threads on this site I think this is possibly a Perthshire Paperweights 'Aladdin's Cave' paperweight. I am open to other suggestions though!

I'd say it was a Paul Ysart weight.

It is not by Paul Ysart.

Perthshire Paperweights "Fountain" (or "Aladdin's Cave") is correct, although the size stated is midway between the PP7 (Medium: 2 1/2 inch [6.4 cm]) and PP8 (Large: 3 inch [7.6 cm]) versions. Made 1969 to 1971, unsigned.

Sorry my mistake, thought it looked more PY than Perthshire.

Thanks for the confirmation Kevin and it is a medium size PP7 despite me stating earlier it was 7 cm (it was very early when I posted the query lol)  :)
