Holmegaard Jacob Bang table lamps ? ID = Empoli
« on: April 07, 2020, 03:49:39 AM »
Hi all , hope everyone is staying safe .

Just bought two of these Orange cased table lamps ( yet to arrive )  . They are always listed as “  Mid Century 1960s Holmegaard designed by Jacob E Bang “ but have searched Peter’s wonderful Hardernet Danish glass website and had no luck confirming this design . Definately a Holmegaard colourway , vintage going by socket and electrical cable and have come across a light blue , white , brown and dark green cased versions too  . Does anyone any ideas as to maker , designer etc ..  Perhaps Holmegaard supplied the glass bases only for manufacture by another lighting company ie Nordisc Solar Compagni , Danmark ?

 cheers Gary

ps another one here for sale  on Ebay with better pictures than mine below

I have had a couple of these lamps in yellow exact same shape and was surprised how thin the glass was and how light in weight they are. Both had the same brass coloured cap on top. They never struck me as being Holmegaard ( I have had several Holmegaard lamps all positively identified) and assumed that they are from Empoli.

I have an identical one and for years have thought it was from Empoli.  It isn't the same quality as my Holmegaard glass IMHO.  I love it all the same.
