I'd really appreciate any help I can get IDing this candlestick. I know very little about it. It appears to be hand cut and I believe it is lead crystal.

I was told it is very old but I can't confirm that.

It's 16'' tall and the base is 5'' in diameter. A piece that has cracked off at the top.

It's probably by one of the many American companies but which I don't know, possibly Heisey, Westmoreland or Fenton. It's actually pressed glass made in a mould and probably comes under Early American Pattern Glass/ EAPG. You could try the Collectors' Weekly site which is more U.S. orientated.

Looking at the swags and such it looks cut rather than moulded to me. Certainly appears to be great quality, though I've no idea of make, or country of origin. From the colour, I wouldn't be surprised to find that it has high uranium content. Have you checked it for a glow under blacklight?

You're right Mosquito it does look cut, I didn't look closely at the last photo. kavetne, you could also try searching the www.replacements.com site but it may take you some time.
