Attractive chunky bulbous vase, 11cm tall, streaky red and white cased in clear. Signature to the base... could anyone decipher it, please?

Could be Valetta or Mtarfa, pretty sure it is from one of the glass makers on Malta, Phoenecian is another possibility.

John

Sue is more than likely right.

I can kind of read Valletta more into the mark than Mtarfa.  ;D
I would not have thought Phoenician.

Just throwing the net wide Sue! Would think Valetta too, seen a few of their bits in these colours over the last couple of years.

Thanks very much, everyone. It came with some other Maltese pieces so the attribution makes sense. Even knowing that it's Valetta doesn't make the signature any clearer but it is actually a very attractive piece in the flesh.
