Vasart Basket???
« on: May 17, 2007, 12:33:43 AM »
There is a gentleman (assuming gender) that is selling not one, but two, signed vasart baskets (Shape B003). One is pink and one is blue. They are priced at .99 pounds. Both have slight damage. Now call me crazy, but can this be real??? Item number is 27011556183. (Check it out by pasting this number into the box at the top of this page)

Sorry, only wrote down one number, but the second one is available via that site under "See my other items".

If their damaged it is a reasonable price. A Monart basket would do a lot better with damage due to rarity but the baskets are one of the most common Vasart shapes.

The item number comes up as invalid for me.

I'm not sure that I am that worried about the damage as I'm only here for fun, not for profit.

Here is the direct quote:

Item number: 270119556183
(this is the one I like the best 'cuz of the colour) and

Item number: 270119558361

This is on (I believe) the main US e-bay. The url is:

http://www.ebay.com/

Talk to you later.

If you like them buy them, baskets are also a nice way of getting a comparative display of Vasart colours, in the UK they tend to sell quite cheaply unless the colouring is special or they are of the larger seven inch size which are uncommon. Quite a few of the collectors have large collections of these. The crack across the handle is so common, I would not be surised if it was a manufacturing fault... but of course they are very vulnerable to something being dropped on them too.

Okay, my bid is going in. I'm so excited. My first real Vasart.  8) I've also put a bid in on one of Millerart's (sp?) whiskey bottle as a pressie for my best beloved.

I find the prices of Vasart baskets generally on ebay astonishingly low!  They don't go for very much at land auctions either, I don't really understand it... :-\
Thank you very much!
