Yes a lot of the CC was so badly made. But CC was mass machine produced even though hand decorated in production line style, Vasart was made in nothing like those quantities as each piece was free-blown. But relative to other Vasart shapes the basket was made in large quantities. CC fetches higher prices because there are thousands of collectors. If there were just one thousand Vasart collectors today, prices would be much higher than CC due to the relative rarity of all of Ysart glass..,

I do not understand the attraction of CC.... some is quite pretty, but there are much much nicer things that are much much cheaper.... ah well, nought so queer as folk ,and that goes for their collections as well.  ::)

Maybe one day in the future, Vasart will be acclaimed in the same way as GB textured Whitefriars is at the moment.  It is all fashion after all.

Thank you very much!

It is unlikely, low volume production rarely gets very big,,, only the mass produced... Lalique, Gallé, Whitefriars etc. The Vasart's of this world remain niche collecting. On the other hand a big reason for that is the availability of information and there is possibly more info on-line about Scottish Glass in general than, for example, Lalique. So perhaps new trends as on-line collectors mature. A lot of collectors are still off-line and probably dependant on one or two books and dealers.
