National Archives Kew. Anyone going there??
« on: May 22, 2007, 09:30:33 AM »
Hi,
Another request for help.
Is anyone going to the NA at Kew in the near future?
If so, please could you do me a favour and ask to see document J13/16672. Three days notice is required.
I would like to know what reason is given for the winding up of the company involved.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Marcus

No rush on this yet, as I have requested that a sealed file be opened under the FOI Review Request system, which will take @ 30 days allowing time for me to get supporting paperwork.
Thanks and regards,
Marcus

Marcus, I'm not very far from Kew - I could go for you.  Let me know when it's ready and, assuming I've got the car, I'll go.

Pip,
Thanks, you are a star.
The FOI item is important, and I'm hoping they will open it, as it may reveal information that will explain certain connections between Czechoslovakia, and the glassmaking industry in NE England. It may also advance our knowledge of pre-war immigration and new import businesses that sprang up after WWI.
regards,
Marcus
