Stunning heavy glass ??
« on: May 28, 2007, 02:37:50 PM »
Just bought this lovely item but no idea who the maker is. I am presuming it is a vase or water carrier, although it seems too heavy for the latter..
It is 12-1/2" high and looks mould blown..but no idea how they get the deep lines in....there are also etched lines...all very modern looking but there are a few signs of use on the bottom...weighs 1-1/2kilos...and has a pouring lip.
The etched mark on the bottom looks like feathers over a face...or could be hair...anyway I cant find it in my books.
Have posted some pics in my album...under clear glass...thats if they have gone in properly...and would welcome your comments or knowledge on who the designer and make is....It really is quite beautiful.
Retired this year....I love car boots, fairs and charity shops. I have a large collection of glass and a fair bit of pottery.

Hi Lilian, thanks for using GlassGallery  :)   If you look at your album, you'll see a link under 'file information' (below the photograph), you simply copy and paste that into your posting here and it'll link to your photograph.

I noticed that you've doubled up the base photo, and it's in the wrong place too.  I hope that Anne might be able to move that for you.  But congrats on setting up your own album there - I look forward to seeing more of your glass.   :D

Here's the links to your piece:
