Pink Scandinavian Vase?
« on: January 20, 2008, 12:34:35 AM »
Hi Everyone,
Wondered if any one had some thoughts on this vase.
Just got it in today and think it is Scandinavian.

There's a green version of this vase pictured on p.117 of "Fire and Sea," but it isn't clearly attributed. Pina writes that "many Swedish companies used this pinstripe technique" in the fifties. Kosta's are easy as they were signed by Linsdstrand. Other companies making it were Sea Glasbruk, Glimma Glasbruk, Smalandshyttan, Skruf, and Johansfors.

I suppose that's a start.

Hi David,
Thanks for that.
The piece isnt signed, so we can take away Linsdstrand then.
Maybe someone will know this shape and narrow it down.

This technique was also used at Magnor, and a lot of their 50-80'ies glass wasn't signed.

Colors and design work for Magnor.

So Scandinavian - yes : )
Specific glassworks - hard to tell, you can probably rule out Randsfjord and Hadeland.
