Art nouveau opalescent vase - id needed.
« on: April 03, 2008, 02:40:26 PM »
I bought this opalescent vase off ebay, and wondered if anyone had any leads to a maker?  It has a wrythen effect in the glass which was hard to photgraph, and has a petrol shine to the glass. The decoration looks a bit minimal and I was wondering if possibly some flowers were missing, but there doesn't seem any obvious break where they may have been.

I am thinking it is probably bohemian and around 1930's, but I don't have an idea as to which firm?

Any comments?

Thanks
Janet :)

Can you show a pic of the bottom? My initial reaction is Wilhelm Kralik Söhne.

I will visit my dad again tomorrow and get some photos of the bases of this and the Victorian satin vases.  I didn't know the bases were so informative!

I saw it on ebay, nice and was tempted, but i thought maybe a little plain.
Certainly looks Bohemian, early 20th C.

Absolutely - the bases are very informative - even when unmarked. :)
