Masonic is possible, particularly because of the balls. But most usually there are five points on masonic stars. The balls would represent the world's linked by masonry. Perhaps a particular lodge found a need for a sixth point and then added two more awkwardly for luck

I would think that with the Star of David, there would be a chance of it being hebrew or jewish. "But you can't serve meat in the milk glass"  :ac1:  I know, bad, bad sense of humour.  The stress is getting to me.

I do know that the star is the Jewish Symbol for the Star of David. Not the Star of David that is Early American Prescut. Maybe knowing that the star is Jewish will help...........
As far a Mason, I think that is in the right area. You could search for "The order of the Eastern Star". However, Mason's are very secretive......

I have been looking at stars until I am seeing them now  , and I don't think it is the Jewish one, it doesn't look like it at all.

So I am leaning to the Masonic angle, but being female, not knowing the handshakes and as I have both trouser legs rolled down, I think it may be an uphill battle

My neighbors were Mason's. It looks to me like it would be in a cup they used in a ritual. Like when they moved up in the temple each time and oath was taken. Then a drink and some other hokie pokie to verify the new statice.

The world has advanced and female lodges exist. Though most women have more sense to play kid's games once grown up 

I don't think this example can be the Star of David because of the embellishments so probably best just to call it a hexagram.

Husband, who knows about these things    (he used to be Jewish and he used to be a Mason!  ) says an interlaced star is Masonic, not Jewish.  It's a development from the interlaced square and compass symbol. 

No idea who made the little glass, though! Sorry!

It does sound like your OH might know what he's talking about in this case  I hadn't noticed the interlaced bit. I will have to tuck that away in my tiny mind.
