Is the bottom rim ground flat or ex mould?

It looks like mould finished from the photograph. I agree it is not Scandinavian or French, next I would look at Italian (Fidenza) or Polish.

Hi
The bottom is moulded and I thought that it looked remarkably like the circular pattern of Rudolf Jurnikl's Vases for Rudolfova Hut?
I am going into unchartered waters with the Italian possibility! Anyways grateful as ever of your ideas. I will try to follow them up!
regards
simon

Not the bottom, the base rim. I think Ivo's is right. I just want to be sure

Not too certain what you mean but it has been ground and polished with a bevelled edge.
Is that what you mean?

Yes, that's what I was wondering. Bevelled edge hmm, quite up market then. That's not very common.

a little technican conundrum here. From the photograph it seems the piece is finished in the mould, so not a ground and polished stand with a beveled edge but a moulded bevel. Fantastic photograph, by the way. The edges are rounded, so it was either moulded or (acid) polished afterwards - which would be an unnnecessary additional operation after beveling. Apparently the material is high quality crystal and designed to produce maximum sparkle - so I'd suspect one of the high quality low profile Italian companies - Fidenza or CALP. But there is no substitute for handling. I could be off by a few countries...

Could it be a section from a chandelier or light fitting and not a vase?

Hi,
I have not come across this in Czech catalogues, and the base suggests neither press-moulded nor automatic production from Sklo Union.
Regards,
Marcus

Thanks again for your replies. In answer to your question it is definately not part of a chandalier. Far too heavy! I'm grateful for the info re the Sklo Union catalogues. Looks like I will have to try to Italian route although I have put a link on the Murano section to which I have not received 1 reply!!....the plot thickens!!!!
