Topic: Glass Sheep and Bunny ID = Scottish Borders Art Glass

Found in a charity shop, only label is one saying £8.90..

There's one photo of the sheep/bunny, and  a different angle on the sheep.

Also one image of another animal (that seems to have a flaw through it's nose)


Any ideas? Pointers?

3rd one looks like a badger possibly? Can't help with maker for any though, sorry.

The sheep and bunny are Tweedsmuir Glass I think.

Possible, I need more marked labelled images of his work for SG link. I am trying to contact him, but he no longer making glass unfortunately.

I saw a labelled sheep the other day exactly the same as this one, but without the irridised surface, so I'm 99% sure these are Tweedsmuir.

The last animal looks very much like one I had which I was told was a polar bear by Wedgewood.  I haven't seen a picture or catalogue of one to verify it.

Sometimes it can take a long time, but hopefully this is still helpful.  I collect Tweedsmuir glass in abundance, so know these are not their work....I am 100% certain they are Scottish Borders Art Glass.

The Polar bear is definately not Wedgwood (no 'e' in the middle of Wedgwood BTW).

Peter Holmes told me that Chris Dodd's was one of the best glassmakers they had at Selkirk. Now he is believed to be a gardener somewhere in England.

Hopefully he pops up here one day - to discover that his Tweedsmuir work is now getting a lot of attention. I have one of his cats sitting next to my screen.

I have so many pieces of his work Frank,  both for Selkirk and for Tweedsmuir.  There is a stoat on eBay listed as Murano at the moment, and I have told the seller it is Tweedsmuir, but she won't change it!!
