Eeek. No, don't bother with the forum at all - it's been under attack since Feb 2, and it looks like the glassies abandoned it ages ago. I can't see that Tom Bredehoft article anywhere on that site.

Here's Old Charlie, but he's not the right pattern.

I'll change the title of your post a little in the hope of attracting Sid.

Yes, I said it wasn't old Charlie, but linked to him for reference.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, I feel that I need to provide another view of the West Virginia Museum of American Glass and their excellent journal - All About Glass.  Unfortunately, the All About Glass forums have indeed been over run by spammers.  But do not let that scare you away from this great organization.  Their main website can be found at http://wvmag.bglances.com/. You can subscribe to the journal through the web page provided above or through their ebay store.

That said, the jug that this thread is really about is not Old Charlie. There was a very good article about "Old Charlie" in All About Glass Vol. 1. No 1.   Back issues are also available from their ebay store.

Hi Sid, good to see you here! I'm really pleased that the museum and their magazine are still alive and running. The link in the old thread has been replaced with your new link. Don't worry about hijacking the thread; it's important to sort these things out.

No time to write more at the moment, but I just want to say that I have the twin to this chap - he's been in our collection for a decade or more. He features in our "Art of Carnival Glass" book. I'll write more tomorrow when I have some time (off out right now).
