Pink & white garish jack 'o the pulpit vase
« on: April 14, 2009, 03:47:48 PM »
One of these has appeared on eBay listed as "Nazeing". I know it is not but teh seller has asked me if I have any idea by whom it was made. Any idea who made these?
Thanks, S.

:P I really don't like the shape of jack-in-the-pulpit vases at the best of times, but that one in particular is just... obscene! Ugh!

Didn't Ivo link to a Polish group making something like these? I'm searching through the old threads, but can't find the one.

I have to agree Cathy - they're not my thing either  :spls:   However I just want to add that I don't think it's Alum glass either (the Alum JIP vases I've seen have been much more... ahem ... elegant? tasteful? something like that anyway)

Thats the one Ane, thanks. I think they are ghastly too, which is why i was offended that it was attributed to Nazeing! IT IS NOT! The seller asked me for a possible maker...

I'm sorry, but this looks vaguely gynaecological to me.

There's another one on eBay ( 270376409775 ) which looks to have exactly the same foot and stem.

These do not have the delicacy that I have usually seen in 19th century examples, and the style of foot and stem looks to me to be probably modern output from eastern Europe or Asia.
