Possibly Scandinavian ?
« on: August 11, 2009, 02:53:07 PM »
Hi,
Does anyone recognise this greyish-green vase please? It's 8 inches tall with a nice polished pontil.
Thanks again.
Tina

Absolutely! there's quite a bit of scratching and age related wear around the ground edge, the polished out part in the centre is more oval than round, measuring an inch across one way and almost an inch and a half the other....
many thanks Michelle

WMF possibly?  The shape looks right for a Wagenfeld design ...

hi Tina,
i think that´s not a pontil mark on the base. your vase appears to be mould-blown
with a ground and polished base and top rim. i´ve seen these concave bases with
a ground ring on WMF vases, so they´re still in the run, but it´s not in the Wagenfeld
catalogue.
